Welcome to the Costa del Solway. Although Silloth’s glory days as the top holiday resort resort of the Cumbria coast may have faded a little there is still  interest for the sea angler. Fishing is mainly for flounder and plaice although there is always the chance of a bass or two over the summer months.

Skinburness , a little way north, offers similiar sport. Both of these are still rather more estuary marks than anything else and it’s not until Allonby that more consistent sport with bass and the winter species acn be expected.
