New Mills is an ideal fishery for youngsters, beginners or for families looking for a day out with a difference – but can still offer something of interest to the more experienced angler with only a couple of hours or an evening to spare. Many of the bigger fish in the main lake are ‘resident’ and well educated and present a real challenge. Elsewhere on site a bait pool provides almost guaranteed success for excited youngsters and their equally thrilled parents!

In this respect New Mills is a valuable entry level facility for the north of the county and the fishery provides a wide range of coaching sessions and introductory events for both youngsters and adults.

The site is well set out and maintained to a high standard. New Mills also has tearooms, a tackle shop and other facilities for visitors.

Access is good for anglers with limited mobility or for wheelchair users
