This easily accessible fishery offers good fishing for rainbow trout and a few clunking browns. Farleton view comprises two spring fed lakes both of which have now pleasantly matured, The larger lake covers around five acres with open banks and plenty of room for stalking fish in the clear water.
Fly life can be prolific with excellent buzzer hatches, olives and damsels later in the year. Caenis (Mayfly) hatch in their millions on summer evenings during June and July. The fishery is not deep and a floating line is generally all that is needed apart from during the colder months when lures come into their own. From late spring through to late autumn this is excellent dry fly and nymph water and anglers fishing imitative patterns will invariably come out on top.
Access is good for less mobile and wheelchair anglers can enjoy the use of a purpose built platform. Juniors and beginners will also find this a good venue to develop their skills.
The smaller lake is shallow and does become weedy. For much of the year it is normally reserved for instructional use.
Farleton view has a Cafe, toilets and a garden nursery on site. (Handy if you’ve stayed too long and mistakenly think a new pot plant might get you off the hook.)
Please note; Farleton view is closed for the winter months from 1st November to 1st March
